About Nuno Venes
He is a partner at Carrilho, responsible for the economics services. Nuno is currently the President of the Institute of Financial Management of the Portuguese Social Security. Formerly, was the Chief of Staff to the Secretary of State of Social Security, assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences at Lusíada University and invited assistant professor at the Higher Institute of Police Sciences and Internal Security (ISCPSI). Previously, he was Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences at Lusíada University, as well as a member of the Scientific and Pedagogical Councils at Lusíada University. Before that, he was Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Social Security Financial Management Institute, I.P. (IGFSS, I.P.). He also authored and co-authored some scientific articles and academic books.
Nuno was the coordinator of the technical assistance mission to East-Timor, which established the country’s Social Security system. He holds a five-year BSc in Economics from Lusíada University, a MSc in Monetary and Financial Economics and a PhD in Economics, both from ISEG (Lisbon, Portugal). He speaks and writes english and spanish fluently.
